The Robotics Active Vision Group (RAVG) is part of the Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing graduate program of the CINVESTAV-IPN campus Saltillo in northern Mexico (Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila). In the group, we are interested in projects where active vision is essential for robotics and artificial intelligence. Our main areas are: Robotics, Artificial intelligence and Computer Vision.
Currently, our main lines of research are:
- Object recognition / detection
- Deep Learning
- Robotics path planning
- Industrial vision
- 3D reconstruction
- Visual Inspection
- Color enhancement of underwater images
- Vision-based underwater robotics
- Shape Analysis
- Drones in Agriculture
CINVESTAV-IPN is the most important research center in Mexico (see link) ranked #1. Also it ranks #2 (see link) when compared with all other research centers of Latin America. It has more than 650 full time principal researchers and one of the highest productivity in the country. The main focus of our institution is cutting edge research and technology.
CINVESTAV-IPN offers graduate degrees through its 63 programs (32 doctorate and 31 masters), where both basic and applied research are addressed.
We are always looking for talented Master and PhD students. Also Post-Docs are welcome. If you are accepted in our program, both domestic and international students receive a full scholarship (2 years for Master, 4 years for PhD) through CONACyT. We have no tuition fees. If you are interested in joining our Lab RAVG of the Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing Program, please contact us. We encourage you to write directly to the researcher which topics align with your interests.
